Image Generation GAN API

Turn latent controls into a clear image-generation contract.

Choose the domain before the controls

Identify what the checkpoint was trained to generate and whether that domain matches the intended application. A narrow visual generator should not be described as capable of producing arbitrary content. Document the output resolution, supported conditions, and known limitations.

The linked article discusses StyleGAN as a research example of model-specific control. A seed, latent vector, class label, and reference image have different roles. Do not expose a text prompt or reference input unless the selected model actually supports it.

Define reproducibility honestly

Record the checkpoint, input configuration, seed where supported, and preprocessing and postprocessing revisions. Decide whether reproducibility means identical files, equivalent appearance, or an inspectable procedure, then test the chosen claim in the supported environment.

For approved assets, preserve the exact artifact and checksum rather than relying on regeneration from a seed. Keep approval state separate from job completion and define how long delivery artifacts remain available.

CHECK 01

Controls

Only inputs with documented model support.

CHECK 02

Coverage

Repeatable sampling beyond selected highlights.

CHECK 03

Provenance

Configuration and approved artifact records.

Questions for this workflow

Does every GAN accept text prompts?

No. Design the interface around the selected architecture and checkpoint. A latent or class-conditioned generator should not imply text control it does not provide.

Is a seed enough to reproduce an approved image?

Preserve the approved file itself. A seed is useful context, but model and execution changes can affect exact regeneration.
